Stephanie Bono, JD, PhD (She/Her)

Licensed Psychologist, Practice Owner

I’m Dr. Stephanie Bono, a licensed psychologist in Missouri and Illinois and the owner of Horizon Therapy and Assessment Services. I provide therapy and psychological evaluations to adults, as well as training, supervision, and consultation services to other mental health professionals and organizations.

As a neurodivergent psychologist, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my work. I strive to create a strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming environment where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered. My therapeutic approach focuses on helping clients embrace their natural way of thinking, build self-advocacy skills, and create meaningful lives without relying on masking or changing who they are. I work best with individuals who are ready to engage collaboratively in therapy and who see value in cultivating insight and making meaningful change.

In addition to therapy, I offer comprehensive psychological evaluations for Autism, ADHD, PTSD, Bipolar disorder, and other concerns. My evaluations integrate in-depth clinical interviews, standardized assessments, and personal narratives to provide actionable, personalized recommendations that go beyond diagnosis.

My forensic services include psychosexual evaluations, risk assessments, and other court-related evaluations. I also provide evidence-based, non-shaming treatment for individuals with sexual concerns and pornography addictions. With both a Juris Doctorate and a PhD in Counseling Psychology, I bridge the gap between psychology and the legal system, providing thorough, ethical, and objective assessments to assist in informed decision-making. If you would like to learn more about the forensic services I offer, please visit http://www.restorativepathways-stl.com.

I provide training, supervision, and consultation to students, early career clinicians, licensed professionals, and organizations seeking to deepen their knowledge and refine their practice. I am especially passionate about psychological assessment and offer specialized guidance in the administration, interpretation, and integration of complex testing batteries. My supervision style is structured, collaborative, and grounded in ethical practice, with a strong emphasis on clinical reasoning, cultural humility, and professional identity development. I support clinicians in developing competence and confidence in their assessment and therapeutic work, and I offer consultation services to practices, agencies, and legal professionals seeking clarity in cases involving diagnostic complexity, neurodivergence, or forensic concerns.

If you’re looking for support, clarity, or simply a space to feel understood, I’m here to help. Whether you're navigating a life transition, exploring a diagnosis, or seeking guidance as a professional, I offer a compassionate, collaborative approach grounded in respect and authenticity. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. I would be honored to be part of your journey!
